Jussi Salonen, tenor
Ensemble Nylandia
The Most Beautiful Baroque Christmas Carols concert features Christmas songs from 16th to 18th century Europe, performed on period instruments – while also inviting the audience to join in singing. Many of the Christmas carols beloved by Finns today date back to the Baroque era. For example, Heinillä härkien kaukalon originated in Baroque France, and Enkeli taivaan can be traced back to Martin Luther himself. During the concert, audiences will both listen to and sing these familiar and cherished Christmas songs in authentic Baroque style.
