Darkness in the Old Mill

fri 23.10. – sun 1.11.2026

During the Dark Weeks, exciting performances take place in the Mill.

Dark Feasts, Ground by Water

A wordless, immersive performance journey in the Fiskars Village Mill

Puppeteer Aapo Repo and musician Mikko Laakkonen guide audiences through the mill towards a communal Kekri feast. In this wordless performance, grain, traditional small beer, sound, puppets and the spaces of the mill come together to create a celebration that gives thanks for the harvest and prepares for the arrival of the dark season.

The journey, led by the Master of Kekri, culminates in a festive gathering. Traditional small beer, long offered to guests as a gesture of hospitality, brings both everyday and ritual significance to the event. On other days, the work can be experienced as an open installation, inviting visitors to linger, watch, listen and return again.

Feast of Tuonela – Scenes from the Fiskars Village Mill

Teatterivalimo presents a site-specific performance in the Fiskars Village Mill, where local stories, traces from archives and work across generations intertwine. Apples are on offer, but beware, they may leave your mouth hanging open for a week, and the vipers of the rocky hills awaken within the mill walls. The journey continues upstairs to the Kekri celebration, featuring dances with the people of Tuonela and giant marionettes.

Tickets: €10
