Quiet North exhibition
Ten stories of our time
In the north, there is a small country whose future is also a concern for a group of designers and architects. Their designs are characterized by a respect for craftsmanship, local materials, and a commitment to creating unique, timeless results. They are guided by a working method in which origin holds meaning and value. The Quiet North exhibition brings together ten perspectives and works from ten designers, architects, or teams. The northern dimension and the pressing issues of our time guide their work.
Design and architecture shape our daily lives in almost unnoticed ways. What needs is our well-being built upon, and who defines them? The exhibition presents alternative perspectives, discusses human values, and addresses even difficult topics with a humane approach. The exhibition challenges the audience to reflect deeply on the impact of our choices, while also pointing to the opportunities that change can offer.
The designers and architects participating in the exhibition are: Tea Auramo & Fluff Stuff, Simo Heikkilä, Mari Isopahkala, Nathalie Lautenbacher & Naoto Niidome, Laura Mattila & Mikko Merz, Camilla Moberg, Tuulia Penttilä, Emilia Tikka, the You Tell Me collective, and Karin Widnäs.
The exhibition is open from July 1st to August 3rd, 2025, at the Fiskars Old Granary building.
The exhibition is produced by Elävien Muotoilijoiden Seura.
