Biennale is a multidisciplinary discussion and performance forum combining art and scientific research in Fiskars, Raasepori, from 20 to 31 May 2023.
This week-long event offers discussion, speeches, art exhibition as well as dance – and performance art. The theme for 2023 is lake ecology, the cultural importance of lakes and water as a metaphor for art.
The event will be started off by Digersjön – stage performance, which will lay the foundation for the following discussions between art and science.

Relating to Biennale’s theme, there will be various discussion opportunities as well as speeches from artists and researchers in regard to cultural history, poetry, water ecology, neuroscience, multi-sensory observation and kinaesthetic learning and empathy.
During the Biennale the audience can also visit The Raft of the Medusa, an art installation, which has been created based on Théodore Géricault’s painting and the story behind the artwork. The Raft of the Medusa is part of the visual world of the Grand Lake (Suuri järvi) – Digersjön – stage perfomance
