Violinist Orest Smovzh performs at Anna-Maija’s & Lassi’s sauna lodge’s main hall on 8.3.2025 18 o’clock. Address Kullantie 27, 10470 Fiskars. Free entrance, voluntary donations / program fee in cash or mobile pay for the artist on pay-what-you-can -basis to cover traveling fees. Aarni’s cantina serves before and after the concert, payment in cantina in cash or mobile pay.

The program of the evening consists of extremely short pieces curated by Orest. It includes imaginary punk-covers, disfunctional fragments from every day life, sheet music found from comic books, and some freshly comissioned new works. Also, it includes the complete works for violin solo by Kalle Hermanni Autio, that Orest recently also recorded, and we call the evening also a record release concert. The 7” 1-sided record is for sale at the event.
Orest Smovzh is an Ukrainian violinist currently based in Helsinki, Finland. He performs repertoire that spans over 800 years while actively commissioning and premiering contemporary music across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. Orest is currently a doctorate candidate at Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki.
Orest holds degrees from National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, and Peabody Institute in Baltimore. For the last few years, he has worked under the mentorship of Midori
Orest’s main artistic activity at the moment is collaborating with composers and research. Only in 2024 he commissioned and premiered around 100 new works while researching contemporary caprices, etudes, and studies for violin solo.
