Galleria360 Jarno Kantanen & Sound Sculpting K&K

tues 30.9. – sat 25.10.2025

The exhibition combines Jarno Kantanen’s copper sculptures with a sound installation created by Olli Kari and Laura Katila. The works are separate, but at the same time strongly intertwined. The sound installation is based on the sounds of Kantanen’s workshop as he works on his sculptures.

The theme of the sculptures in the exhibition is frozen movement. The movement of the forged copper has been stopped, but the copper’s own oxidation continues.

The patina changes constantly, and the sculpture paints itself.

In the sound installation, the random noises of the metal workshop are transformed into a harmonious whole. The clamor and impacts take on new meaning together with traditional instruments and create a new story about the sculptures in the listener’s mind.
